IN ROTATION: Our most played albums in MARCH 2019
METAL GENTLEMAN’S MARCH IN ROTATION LIST
Maybe I’m wrong, but March felt a bit dull when it came to new releases. There were a handful that caught my attention, but I’m keeping them tucked away for a more detailed review. So here are a few recent and not so recent albums that have been a constant in my playlist this month.
A. A. WILLIAMS – A. A. Williams
This short EP is not loud. It’s not even metal actually. But it’s dark, it’s emotive and in its own way, I would say, it’s even heavy. I’m sure most metalheads will enjoy this very short release.
ENEFERENS – The Bleakness of our constant
I followed ENEFERENS since it’s inception and until now it never disappointed me. The latest effort is really uplifting and shows what beauty can be created from the abrasive elements of metal.
DAWN OF DISEASE – Ascension Gate
Whenever I listen to this band I compare it to a more riff oriented and less atmospheric Insomnium. The album does not break any speed records, but, surprisingly, it never bothered me, even though I prefer faster drumming.
VANUM – Ageless Fire
It’s just rage. Pure, blazing rage. VANUM composed something that resembles an unstoppable force of nature. It’s very engaging and it will grab your attention even if you want it or not.
MYSTIFIER – Protogoni Mavri Magiki Dynasteia
The first time I listened to Mystifier was after our memeber, Vlad, reviewed their latest album. Since then I wasn’t able to put it down. Vile and chaotic, but it still captures the early extreme metal vibe, making this a really fun and worthwhile listen.
