BAZUndergroundUpdates CCXII

Hey hey hey! Summer is just about upon us and our writers Julia Katrin and Tom Osman are summer-ier than ever and back with a brand new instalment of The Underground Updates!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

GRAVEHUFFER So there is a new instalment from Gravehuffer available for us to enjoy right now, and all you need to do is head over here and check out the Dog Cop session and the track Inferno!

TRANSYLVANIAN RECORDINGS So someone very special has a birthday today, and so has decided to hold a sale on everything, including bundles! Simply head over here to check out the selection at Transylvanian Recordings and use the code doomer at checkout for 20% off on your entire order!

NEUROT RECORDINGS Our favourite has picked a new album! This week’s Pay What You Can segment over at Neurot is The Future Died Yesterday by Tension Span! Head over here right now to claim your copy and simply pay what you can!

RED ROT Any band that cites EyeHateGod as a reference point (as death metal act Red Rot does on their bandcamp page) is worth checking out, in this writer’s book. The band’s second full-length, Borders of Mania, has just dropped on Hammerheart Records and listening to this record feels like running through a minefield, with explosions going off from left to right. Check out the album in full here, while head the label’s webstore here to choose from a range of vinyl options.

JOURS PÂLES Now here’s an intriguing take on black metal. Dissolution, the second album by France’s Jours Pâles features no shortage of pummelling, pounding fury, alongside wailing, almost operatic-tinged vocals of the most pained variety. It’s almost like the Phantom of the Opera went on an extreme metal binge. Furious power meets melodic intent. Check out the album in full here, out now on Les Acteurs de L’Ombre Productions.

BLACK HOLE DEITY Don’t you think it’s about time to be throttled by some relentless death metal savagery? Yes you do! If this preview track here from forthcoming Profane Geometry by Black Hole Deity is anything to go by, this debut is going to be a powerful assault of hammering percussion and head spinning lead guitar work. Released on July 5th, you can pre-order on a range of formats from Everlasting Spew from the link above.

SUNN O))) Do you like Sunn O)))? Do you like merch? If the answer to both these questions, click here as Seattle’s drone-metal masters have just made some additions to their merch store on bandcamp.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.

So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
