#BAZUndergroundUpdates LXVII

So, The Underground Update has had one quite successful week already in its new suit, and so our writers Julia Katrin and Tom Boatman see no reason why they shouldn’t continue with this new form and have even added one additional category! So, read on in order to figure out what it is!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

FAWN LIMBS After having released Sleeper Vessels and Harm Remissions in the last two years, Fawn Limbs are back now with an upcoming brand-new EP Darwin Falls, and for the occasion Decibel Magazine snooped around to scope out the single Noose Gestures, straight from the upcoming EP. To read the article and stream the new single head directly over here and enjoy!

SLUDGELORD RECORDS has this very sexy and fabulous habit of offering name your price downloads on their discography, and now have added Porrima by Postvorta to that offer. Keep in mind that the limited edition cassette + digital album is Sold Out, so there is high demand for this album and so it is very well worth taking advantage of this very special offer, which you can find over here.

LOUD RAGE MUSIC So a fun so called Thank You offer goes on every month with Loud Rage Music which, this month, have decided on the band Gothic and their album Demons which was released back in 2017. The offer was 100 free download codes, which might very well and most likely are all gone by now, however, they are at the same time also offering 50% discount code on the DC version of the album, which you can order here, and during the checkout you enter the promotional code: Sorcery.

EHNAHRE Are you a fan of free music? Well, while we do like to pay for the music we want to listen to in order to support the artists, we do want to point out this very special remaster release of Taming the Cannibals by Ehnahre. You can head over here to hear it for absolutely free, but keep in mind that this album was originally released in 2010 and has now with a remaster gotten a brand now look with art by Brandon Geurts, so keep in mind that there is also the option of purchase by naming your price which has no minimum.

WINTERQUILT The tag-line of UK label Repose Records is “unorthodox underground music” and you’d be hard pressed to argue that the label’s latest release, O’discordia by Liverpudlian “Multi-genre black metal infused experimental midi vaporwave” band Winterquilt doesn’t fit this description. Certainly you won’t hear the likes of this every week. It definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re looking for something surprising and different, click here and get a taste of this very intriguing band.

71TONMAN Just out on Transcending Obscurity Records, War is Peace // Peace is Slavery is a suitably brutalising dose of sludge/doom metal by Poland’s 71TonMan. Given the label of this latest EP you can bet your bottom dollar there’s a ton of special editions and merch available. Just click here to check out what’s on offer.

DOMINATION CAMPAIGN Fans of stomping death metal may find Onward to Glory by Australia’s Domination Campaign tickling their fancy. The album is out now on Prosthetic Records in various formats. Check it out here and stay tuned for an interview with the band in the coming weeks.

NORSE Another week and another pre-release announcement from the great Transcending Obscurity Records. This time round it’s Australia’s futuristic black metal nightmare crafters Norse and their forthcoming album Ascetic, due out on September 25th. You can listen to two preview tracks here as well as feast on all the cool editions, bundles, and merch to coincide with this release, which from the sounds of these preview tracks is going to be a beast.

COGNIZANCE Home to plenty a fine metal band (Body Void, Kataan, and Sarin to name a few) Prosthetic Records has just announced the forthcoming release of Upheaval, the latest album by tech-death metal group Cognizance. Due on September 24th, you can pre-order the album here on limited coloured vinyl or CD. You can also listen to a preview track of the album on the link above.

8 HOUR ANIMAL The latest dose of Auditory terror coming from Sentient Ruin Laboratories is titled Resigner, the debut by one-man, blackened industrial band 8 Hour Animal. Due for release on August 6th, there is a suitably nightmarish preview track you can listen to here where you can also pre-order the album on various formats including cassette and vinyl.

Poland’s SELFMADEGOD RECORDS have just added a batch of band logo beanies to their merch catalog, featuring Sulfuric Cautery, Severance, Cenotaph, and Immortal Suffering. Check them out here alongside all the label’s other goodies. Shipping rates are very reasonable on both sides of the Atlantic.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative. So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
