BAZ Friday LXXI – Underground Reco For Underground Maniacs

3 min read

Well, it looks that is Friday. The first Friday of November. Till now this year has been a very good one related to releases. Yes it’s true. But we still have two more months till the end of the year. Will see what labels/bands bring to us. Hope for much more music.

So, let me start with my recos for all of you, lovers of the underground.

Band: Feed Them Death
Title: For Our Culpable Dead
Label: Brucia Records
Release date: 02 November 2020
Country: England
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
Style: Death Metal / Grindcore
Time playing: 16:38
Cover/Music: 7/10 – 8/10
Details: Unfortunately this release only has 3 songs. Yes, only that. But is so damn good. A mix of Death Metal with Grindcore and some experimental.

Band: Gelkhammar
Title: The Sword of Gelfiser
Label: Cossyra Tapes (Xenoglossy Productions sub-label)
Release date: 06 November 2020
Country: Italy
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
Style: Black Metal
Time playing: 29:44
Cover/Music: 8/10 – 8/10
Details: Very good Black Metal. And raw too. If you are into Katharsis, Lamp of Murmuur or Black Cilice… This is for you.

Band: Overt Enemy
Title: Inception x Possession
Label: Confused Records
Release date: 13 November 2020
Country: USA
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
Style: Thrash Metal
Time playing: 01:11:26
Cover/Music: 8/10 – 8/10
Details: Well, this is not a new release but a compilation from the two EP already released by the band. This band plays good Thrash Metal. It did remind me a bit Flotsam and Jetsam but with more groove and “weight” and a bit of Slayer.

Band: Hypnos
Title: Rites, Curses and Spells
Label: Einheit Produktionen
Release date: 30 October 2020
Country: Czechia
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
Style: Death Metal
Time playing: 48:46
Cover/Music: 8/10 – 8/10
Details: I remember listening “In Blood We Trust” or “The Revenge Ride”… That was in 2000 and 2001. Oh my, time flies… The music… Well… Still the same. Good Old Fashion Death Metal.

From my private collection…

Band: Nox Illunis
Title: Metempsychosis
Label: War Productions

Country: Italy
Format reviewed: Jewelcase and Digipack
Style: Black Metal
Time playing: 54:03

Style: Black Metal
Time playing: 42:50
