BAZ Friday XLI – Underground Reco For Underground Maniacs

3 min read

Another week of good music. Many releases were out this week and the edition number XLI is here.
Yes, that is true. So check my recos and enjoy them.

Band: White Crone
Title: The Poisoner
Label: Independent
Release date: 22 February 2020
Country: USA
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

When I got this promo and after I read the presentation text I was “intrigued” and at the same time curious to ear it. And… Very good. The mix of Heavy/Doom/Blues and some Hard Rocks is… Almost perfect. Almost cause there is nothing perfect in this world. This album is a dream from Lisa Mann a blues bass player. And thank you for that dream you had, the work you had to do this album. It is very very good. Check this album. Well worth it.

Band: Vástígr
Title: Aura Aeternitatis
Label: Avantgarde Music
Release date: 14 February 2020
Country: Austria
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

Avantgarde Music for me means quality and once more I was right. This time this label releases another very good album. This time was this Austrian band. The band plays Atmospheric Black Metal with very good quality. Good structure songs, goods riffs, the good ambiance around the songs. Well done. I advise you to check it.

Band: New Risen Throne
Title: The Outside
Label: Cyclic Law / Old Europa Cafe
Release date: 07 February 2020
Country: Italy
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

In the last years, my travel inside the music style of this one-man band is deeper. I heard in the past, and still do,  many bands doing the mix of Black Metal with Dark Ambient and I love it, but just the Dark Ambient, as I said, is getting deeper, day after day. So getting this promo as very good for me. In the last years, I found that are many more sub-genres inside this music style. Like Death Industrial, it is a style “less” rough. In my opinion, the Italian musician is more related to Death Industrial. For me this album as a perfect way to relax my mind. According to the promo text, this album is the fourth chapter of a series that began with 2007’s “Whispers Of The Approaching Wastefulness”. I need to check it too. Digipack edition including 2CD, and on the second disc is older songs featuring revised and remixed tracks by close friends and collaborators. I only advise this release to curious in music and fans of this music style.

Title: Inimicus Generis Humani
Label: Invictus Productions
Release date: 14 February 2020
Country: Sweden

The first impression I had when I listen to this album? Angelcorpse but more related to the Death Metal, so the Blackened part was out. After a few times? Vircolac and Morbid Angel. After several times? A MUST. This album is very good. The riffs, the breaks, the tempo changes, the voice, the guitar and drum sound, very good. This is a “must-have” album in your collection. So what are you waiting for?
