BOTANIST New Album Exclusive Stream

BOTANIST is an experimental avant-garde black metal band, dedicated to the Natural World. So easily in their perspective, BOTANIST can be labeled as a Green Metal experimental band. The brand new album – “Ecosystem” is a concept about the ecosystems of redwood forests on the West Coast of the United States, It deals with mankind’s impact on them — particularly calling into question whether humanity has an operating “ecosystem” of its own.

The songs of BOTANIST are told from the perspective of The Botanist, a crazed man of science who lives in self-imposed exile, as far away from Humanity and its crimes against Nature as possible. In his sanctuary of fantasy and wonder, which he calls the Verdant Realm, he surrounds himself with plants and flowers, finding solace in the company of the Natural world, and envisioning the destruction of man.

The bottom line – if we want to enjoy this world, we must respect it, we must protect it, even if it’s only for our personal benefit. If we don’t, if we annoy the Earth enough, the Earth will kill us and move on.

The idea of Humanity vs Nature vs Humanity lays in the highly experimental avant-garde essence of the chants of BOTANIST. Eerie, gentle, ordered, fatal, cursed, chaotic, frantic, “Ecosystem” will be officially out tomorrow – 25 October.
