Band: Profetus
Title: The Sadness of Time Passing
Label: Avantgarde Music
Release date: 11 October 2019
Country: Finland
Format reviewed: Digital Promo
PROFETUS is a band from Finland and they are active since 2007 with the demo “Saturtine”. After two albums and one EP they release now “The Sadness of Time Passing”. I remember seeing the band’s name in some reviews and also some info about them in net during the past years but didn’t listen to. I missed one very good band. This album has 5 songs with a total playing time of 01:05:17. The average of a song is 13min. So… Maybe you already know the style that the band plays… If not… Well… They play Funeral Doom Metal and very good, to be honest. The cadence of the guitars and the drums are very good. The mix of the voices is very well achieved too. If you are into the Funeral Doom Metal you need to check this band.

Band: Temple Ov Perversion
Title: Temple ov Perversion
Label: Clavis Secretorvm
Release date: 18 October 2019
Country: Switzerland
Format reviewed: Digital Promo
After one intro the bands start… The devastation. Yes. Black Metal riffs mixed with a bit of Thrash Metal and/or Speed Metal and I’m listening to a very good release. The band didn’t invent anything or reinvent the style. But they are doing correctly. That is also very good in my opinion. It can sound many other bands but at the same time they are themselves and they do not hide what they like or their influences. This EP was on repeat many times. I can assure you that. Just check them. But… It’s this release is so small in time. I want more. Hope next release I get from them will be an album.
Band: Darkend
Title: Spiritual Resonance
Label: Dark Essence Records
Release date: 13 September 2019
Country: Italy
Format reviewed: Digital Promo
Symphonic Black Metal never was and never will my music style. But sometimes I check some bands. In this case, I checked DARKEND from Italy. The influences or references for this band… Well, they remind me Cradle of Filth or Mactätus but not a copy-paste band, so, not so Symphonic. Thank you for that. The songs in this album are very good, to be honest. I like it. I also notice some influences of Satyricon, especially in the song “Scorpio Astraea High Coronation”. The album is divided is six very good tracks and all they made this album a very pleasant listening. Check them.
