Black Friday XXI – Undergorund Reco

Edition XXI… Well, I’ts true. So this means that I’m older 21 weeks. Ahahahahahahahahaha. No, well, yes, but no again. This means that I had the pleasure to give you plenty of #UndergroundReco. eheh. And for this edition 4 more bands. Hope you enjoy it.

Band: Nameless Void
Title: Nameless Void
Label: Grey Matter Productions/Xenoglossy Productions
Release Date: 31 May 2019
Country: ???
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

Well… It’s true I couldn’t find any info from where the band is. I found many artists with the same name (SM and RN) and a few that could be them, but who really are these two persons? Mystery… Let me talk about this release. When I saw that both labels are mentioned here, I grab this release immediately. Why? Simple. From what I have and know from both labels, till today… Is just music quality. With NAMELESS VOID is no exception. So when I started to listen to this demo I already (+/-) expected what I would listen to. NAMELESS VOID moves inside the Black Metal, no doubt in that, but this band is not for “TRVES”. They are not raw and grim and trve evilness. They are Black Metal with many industrial influences, some Dark Ambient or Death Industrial too, Drone or Noise is not forgotten too. And all these music styles together does the demo “Nameless Void” a very good debut release. Check them…

Band: Nyss
Title: Dépayser
Label: Avantgarde Music
Release Date: 14 May 2019
Country: France
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

Originally from France but now located in UK. Nyss is not unknown to me. I heard a few things (2 EP) back in 2016. That time I like it so I decided to give a listen to this album. If you are an open mind, yes this Black Metal album is for you. It’s experimental, it’s unique, it’s different, it’s ambient, it’s avantgarde it’s NYSS. The construction of the songs, the way that the vocals appear, the change of rhythm, the cadence of the songs and the turns inside them. The sound production of the whole album, even if the bass looks like is taken from one Necromantia album but without the distortion, I’m not complaining, I love it. All the instruments added in this album, the mix of them, the ambiance of this album. Very good indeed. Please check this band, listen to carefully and after that let us talk a bit about if you want.

Band: Sadness
Title: Circle Of Veins
Label: Flowing Downward
Release Date: 20 May 2019
Country: USA
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

Originally released by the band in March in digital format it is now released by the Italian label in Digipack format. The one-man band SADNESS plays something that I can call as Depressive Black Metal with post-rock and with shoegaze effects (to many in my opinion). It’s a music style that I do not follow too much, to be honest. In this album, I could listen to some interesting parts but the strident sound of the guitars did not help much, at least to me, to be able to appreciate in full, if this release is, in fact, good or not. There are high and good moments, I am sincere and I had to listen many times even to finally start to appreciate the same. I advise only lovers of this type of music.

Band: Pestilent Death
Title: Chapters of Depravity
Label: Blood Harvest Records / Rotted Life
Release Date: 24 May 2019
Country: USA
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

Arghhhh!!!!! Well well. I have a great Death Metal work here. Remembering great names from the 90s, I will not mention them, your ears will be in charge of trying to capture what you can remember. A cover typically Death Metal, with which I do not care at all because I love it. A sound production that is perceptible what they play, a voice very “rotten” and also grunted. All this and much more managed to catch my ears. With some intros on the songs related to the horror/gore. Lovely. EhEh. This album I advise to the lovers of old school gore horror Death Metal.
