Dromos – Failing Light is out via Argonauta Records
DROMOS is a funeral doom and atmospheric heavy band from North London, formed in 2019, emerging from the fertile UK underground with a sound that blends crushing weight, expansive ambience and a strong psychedelic sensibility. Built on slow burning dynamics, dense textures and immersive structures, the band moves between ritualistic heaviness and vast, almost cinematic soundscapes, creating music designed for deep listening and total absorption.
The project is rooted in a highly experienced underground network, with members having previously played in or contributed to acts such as Grave Miasma, Final Dose, Mutagenic Host, Eihort and other extreme and experimental formations within the UK scene. This background in death metal, doom, industrial and avant garde heavy music directly informs the depth and intensity of DROMOS, while simultaneously pushing the band into a more atmospheric and exploratory direction.
Their debut material, released as a two track statement in 2024 via Dry Cough Records, established their identity as a band capable of balancing immense heaviness with hypnotic progression and emotional gravity, positioning them as one of the more distinctive emerging voices in contemporary funeral doom and post heavy exploration.
Now signed to Argonauta Records, DROMOS present their next full length release, continuing to expand their vision of slow, immersive and psychedelic doom music. Their approach draws on the oppressive atmosphere of classic funeral doom while integrating elements of psychedelic rock and experimental sound design, resulting in a deeply layered and evolving sonic experience.
