St. Louis, IL’s Coagulating return to disgorge “Deciphering My Scalded Creation” erupting January 2nd, via Iron Fortress Records on Cd, Digital and Cassette!
‘Deciphering My Scalded Creation’ sees COAGULATING spew six fetid cuts of unpolished, basement-fermented brutality, hammering out dun-dun-dun chug tremors and tortured harmonic squeals, propped up by a rhythm section of putrid, sludgy bass, clicky insectile kick drums, and rusted ping snare hits.
Like scum floating on sewer sludge, the vocals only serve to add another level of sickness, with each member of the trio belching subharmonic lows, sumped-out inhales, caustic fry shrieks, and grotesque septic-tank gurgles, smearing themselves across the instrumentation like filth clinging to the inside of a festering waste pit.
Amplifying the lucid, nightmarish horror of ‘Deciphering My Scalded Creation’, the only discernible voices that surface are chilling serial-killer quotes and horror samples, wrapping the EP in a claustrophobic, suffocating darkness.
While the band’s sonic DNA nods to Internal Bleeding, Immortal Suffering, Dehumanized, and Devourment, COAGULATING mutate those foundations with an added layer of organic rot and bog-thick density, carving out something both reverent and repulsively their own.
