Album Review: Beleghost – The Global Tomb by Sílvia
“The Global Tomb” is the new single released by Beleghost, a one man Black Metal project from Italy. What caught my attention already since the first listen was how intense it is, and the fact that the main tremolo riff is repeated in order to create a hypnotic effect, and damn it, goal achieved… The voice sounds like a disgusting snarl (said as a compliment, of course), describing a post-apocalyptic world after humanity has been buried in their concrete tomb (the cities), and nature reigns again on Earth.
This song is not only hypnotic, but also addictive, and I realize that when the main riff stops playing, it continues being vicious because of the synth notes that are played in the background, kind of a stoned trip. And the constant beating of the drum kit, specially the steaming bass pedal, provokes a devastating effect, this song gets you trapped in a whirlwind.

Cold as a Nordic stream surrounded by a ghostly mist on a full moon night; that’s what this song is like. And the last verse, inspired by a Native American proverb, says it all:
“When the last tree has fallen,
and the last river has been poisoned,
the only thing you can do
is eat your fuckin’ money.”
Tell me about a more apocalyptic message…
Also, if you take a look at the artwork, it’s fitting the message perfectly: now that our planet has been destroyed by us humans, it’s being recovered by nature. As it must be.
By the way, you’ll notice instantly that the logo and the artist’s stage name (Satvrno Occvlto) are heavily influenced by Darkthrone, I guess this musician loves this band so much…
This is the time for Beleghost to infect the world with their vicious sound. After their debut EP in January 2025, now this single “The Global Tomb” marks another chapter full of creativity, where atmosphere and rawness perfectly entwine. 9/10
