Slomatics – Atomicult out September 12th, 2025 via Majestic Mountain Records
After nearly two decades forging a path through the heavy underground, Belfast’s Slomatics now return with Atomicult, their eight full-length album and first for new record label Majestic Mountain Records, due out on September 12 on digital, CD, and vinyl formats. Following their critically acclaimed 2023 LP Strontium Fields, Atomicult finds the trio operating at the absolute peak of their creative powers: heavier, spacier, and more mesmerizing than ever.
Produced by Rocky O’Reilly at Start Together Studios in Belfast and mastered by the legendary James Plotkin, Atomicult continues Slomatics’ cosmic journey through psychedelic sci-fi doom. The striking cover artwork by Ryan Lesser perfectly captures the scale and interstellar doom of the record’s sound and narrative.
Across their 20-year trajectory, Slomatics, comprised of Marty Harvey (drums/vocals), David Majury (guitar), and Chris Couzens (guitar), have carved out a sound that is unmistakably their own. Defined by thunderous riffs, soaring synth-laced atmospheres, and post-apocalyptic storytelling, the band has cultivated a loyal following through landmark albums like Canyons, A Hocht, and Estron, as well as acclaimed splits with Conan, Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard, Domkraft, and others.
Atomicult pushes that vision even further. The use of vintage synthesizers adds rich, textural depth and reinforces the album’s distinct sci-fi aura, while Harvey’s operatic vocal melodies bring a rare grandeur and emotional weight. With their seasoned songwriting and boundless creativity, Slomatics continue to bend space and time through sound.
Their live reputation also precedes them, having performed at some of the world’s most revered festivals including Roadburn, Desertfest, Freak Valley, and Psycho Las Vegas, and Atomicult is destined to become a milestone in an already stellar catalog. This is not just an album. It’s a transmission from another dimension.
