BAZUndergroundUpdates CCLI

And we are almost halfway through February! Our writers Julia Katrin and Tom Osman are going on as always with The Underground Updates, and this week is full of goodies!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

REVOCATION Death metal outfit Revocation has now made available to us a brand new standalone single Confines of Infinity with its accompanying video! The new track features guest vocals from Cattle Decapitation´s Travis Ryan and marks the debut of the new Revocation lineup! Head over here right now to check it out!

SANHEDRIN New York trio Sanhedrin will be releasing their long awaited new full length album Heat Lightning on March 14th via Metal Blade Records! Of course that’s not all, and already the track Blind Wolf has already been made available to us to enjoy! Head over here to check out the track and its video and of course over here to place your album preorder!

RIVERS OF NIHIL Progressive death metal progenitors Rivers of Nihil are releasing their eponymous fifth full length album on May 30th via Metal Blade Records! Of course we are here for the sneak peak, and you can head over here right now to check out the track House of Light and its accompanying video! Oh, and do find the pre orders over here!

ARCH ENEMY The Swedish extreme metal titans Arch Enemy will be unleashing their 12th studio album Blood Dynasty at the end of March, and the band has now revealed their ultimate single and video Paper Tiger! Head over here right now to check it out, and of course over here to place your album preorder!

SUN O))) First live action of 2025 from Sun O))) will be in the form of a one-week European tour in June and let us be the first to say how excited we are for this one! The tour includes performances at Ephemera Festival in Warsaw, Hellfest, and a return to Prague! Of course, the tour includes oh so much more, and you will want to keep your eyes open for additional information and tickets!

OBSCURA Germany’s progressive-death-metal voyagers Obscura have been going for over 20 years now and following up 2021’s A Valediction the band has now released A Sonication on Nuclear Blast. You can listen to the album in full here for some thunderous, technical death-metal wizardry. Meanwhile, if you’d like a physical copy (and for past Obscura releases) head over here to the Nuclear Blast webstore.

WREN Dissonant, unsettling sludge is the order of the day with London’s Wren and latest album Black Rain Falls (released 21st of February on Church Road Records). There are three tracks already available to stream here, where you can pre-order the album on CD and vinyl. Ooooh dig that stomach-churning bass guitar.

CRYPTS OF DESPAIR The ever-wonderful Transcending Obscurity Records have just announced the forthcoming release of We Belong In The Grave, by Lithuanian, death-metal unit Crypts of Despair (released the 18th of April). As always with the label, there are a host of different versions of the album available to pre-order (including limited, coloured vinyl), plus various merch. Two preview tracks can be listened to right now and it’s all right here. Note too that as always we have links for the EU and US Transcending Obscurity webstores, so there should be an option that will limit the postage you have to pay.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.

So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
