Voidseer is an intriguing dungeon synth project with its roots in the Balearic Islands, Spain. The artist behind this project, known as Aghanazzar, brings prior experience from playing in the black metal band Inferitvm. This influence may contribute to Voidseer’s unique blend of musical styles. The debut EP, “Immemorial Balearic Ascendant,” released on November 10, 2024, is a captivating exploration of sound, melding dungeon synth, ritual ambient, and black metal.

Each track has a long and descriptive title that sets the scene and helps the listener visualize what is about to unfold. The EP begins with “Vision I”, creating the sense that an adventure is about to commence. The story progresses in the next track, presenting a scene that narrates a ritual intended to appease the God of the underworld. The screams, combined with a horrifying voice, emphasize the terrifying nature of the ritual and hint at its dark purpose. In “Vision III”, the variety of sounds expands, creating the impression of an audio play. The inclusion of horse sounds and the noise of a crowd vividly portrays the chaos and intensity of a battle scene. Finally, “Vision IV” feels slower compared to the other tracks, especially in its first half. The pace picks up in the second half, becoming more dramatic as it narrates the initiation of a journey in search of long-lost towering pillars.

Voidseer’s music is characterized by deep, droning synths, resonant percussion, and an atmosphere steeped in mysticism, evoking ancient rituals and Balearic lore. This EP invites listeners on a journey into a soundscape, rich in narrative and captivating elements. 8/10 vy Pegah
