BAZUndergroundUpdates CCXLI

The first week of December is officially here and our writers Julia Katrin and Tom Osman are thrilled to bring us another round of The Underground Updates!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

SERGEANT THUNDERHOOF Rock five-piece Sergeant Thunderhoof returned to the scene just last month with the release of their fifth studio album, The Ghost of Badon Hill, and have now added a music video to the track Salvation for the Soul! Head over here to check out the video!

ELVENKING Italian pagan/folk metal outfit and recent Reaper Entertainment signees Elvenking have finally unveiled their latest single Throes of Atonement accompanied by a striking lyric video! Head over here right now to check it out!

KING SATAN Just a reminder that King Satan has begun their tour The Devil’s Evangelion so make sure you keep those eyes open for dates and tickets!

ALL FOR METAL This year All For Metal visited many towns all over, and one definite highlight was their performance at Adunata-Feudalesimo e Libertà near Milan, Italy, in May which they have released as a full performance video right over here. However, that is far from being all and to go out with a bang this year the group has released a Christmas themed music video to make the Advent and the holidays even more rocking for the metal community! Head over here right now to check it out!

BEDSORE Not shy of incorporating a good, thick dose of prog with their extreme metal, Italy’s Bedsore gleefully draw from 1970s progressive rock and twirl it around their own particular brand of death metal for wild, operatic ends — on sophomore album Dreaming the Strife for Love (out now on 20 Buck Spin). Come inside for a taste of organs, flutes, trombones and monsters. Listen to the album in full here, where you can purchase the album on cassette, CD and limited colour vinyl.

AGAINST I Blending industrial, groove and death metal, Sweden’s Against I are tough to pin down. The band’s latest album Songs For The Dying is out now on Twisted Flesh Records and worth a listen if you want some pummelling heaviness that blends mechanised, industrial rhythms with an ear for dark melodies. Check out the album in full here.

NORDVARGR Not all heroes wear capes and not all intense heaviness is metal. Resignation IV (out now on France’s Cyclic Law) is the latest offering from dark ambient and experimental artist Nordvargr. Using soundscapes, electronic beats and atmospheric textures, this is indeed a dark, mysterious and enchanting world to enter. You can listen to the album in full here — where you can also pick up the album on CD or two vinyl options.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.

So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
