Hello there,

Here I’m again with some recos for you. The perfect soundtrack for the festivities that are almost arriving? I have to admit that would be fun seeing some headbanging at dinner time. AHAHAHAHAH

Despite being born and raised in a Christian family, since I was very little I stopped feeling related to this time of year, and quite honestly the hypocrisy of human beings at this time breaks previously achieved records. Anyway… Let’s go to our beloved music…

Check my recos…

Band: Corpse Arise
Title: Spite and Kill
Label: Vargheist Records
Release date: 16 December 2023
Country: USA
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

Well, are you ready for some Rotten Death Metal with many old-fashioned filthy Grindcore? If your answer is yes, well, this release is a masterpiece inside that music style and is a MUST have. Can you imagine Old Autopsy, mixed with old Napalm Death? Or Abcess mixed with some Rotten Sound? Now mix a bit of raw, filthy, rotten sound production. And voilá, Corpse Arise. I like it.

Band: Infernal Execrator
Title: Diabolatry
Label: Pulverised Records
Release date: 15 December 2023
Country: Singapore
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

In my humble opinion, this band is one of the few bands that till now, never disappointed me. It is that kind of band that when you see some news announcing a new release, you already know what you will listen to, and you will never think, “Will be good this release?” “Will be as good as the previous one? Is hard to be better” “Will be a crap one?” “I want to listen to, to go to social media and say bad things”. All the releases are brutal, and fast, with a kind of punch on your face, no mercy in the drums, killer riffs, and yet with some melodies.

Band: Namek
Title: Sophistication Is Obsolete
Label: Vomit Your Shirt
Release date: 09 December 2023
Country: Portugal
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

When I got the promo from the label, I started to listen to it almost immediately. Beware that Grindcore, even if I listen to it sometimes, is not a style that I pick many times per year. But this band… I enjoy it. Nothing new, no evolution for the music style, no big deal to be honest, a lot of sarcasm and black humor, like in the previous releases. Check the band. They deserve a chance.

See you next week and…

Don’t forget to support the bands and labels.
