#ShortOnes CXII #UndergroundRecos

Hello there,

Another week is gone and once more here I’m to give you some recos. I had the pleasure to listen to many promos, but, there is only a place here for 3 atm.

So, check my recos…

Band: Besna
Title: Besna
Label: Fiadh Productions / Vita Detestabilis Records
Release date: 01 June 2023
Country: Slovakia
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

This band from Slovakia does a very good approach to Black Metal by mixing progressive metal. The mix is very well done, interesting and the songs are amazing. This tape (physical format) is the reunion of the first release, the self-titled EP from 2018, and the band’s tracks from the 2020 split with Abyss. Besides the mix above mentioned, sometimes the bands remind Khold with the mid-tempo riffs. Good band indeed.

Band: Kvad
Title: So Old
Label: Purity Through Fire
Release date: 02 June 2023
Country: Norway
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

If you want a Raw Black Metal band with a lot of quality, good riffs, a good atmosphere, and good songs, well, this release is for you. The album managed to grab my attention and was playing in my stereo a lot of times. Never get bored and every time I was listening to the album, was like love at first listening. Check them.

Band: Miserere Luminis
Title: Ordalie
Label: Sepulchral Productions
Release date: 23 June 2023
Country: Canada
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

You know when you start to listen to one band and immediately comes to your head a few bands and those bands are unique with the music they play? Yes, it is true. There a few bands playing this kind of Black Metal mixing classical passages, dissonant and atmospheric guitars, complex song structures, a kind of agonised/tortured voice. This is the second album of the band and if you know who is behind the band you will understand what I said and what I will say now… FFO Sombres Forêts, Gris, Pensées Nocturnes, Aquilus, etc.

Don’t forget to support the bands and labels.
