It’s good to be on land again! Both of our writers, Julia Katrin and Tom Osman, are back this time as usual with a brand-new instalment of The Underground Updates!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

BLACK LION RECORDS The sale over at Black Lion Records is in full motion where you can save 50% off until the end of April! As a spring sale they are hoping to clear up some space and all you need to do is head over here and use the code spring50 at checkout!

NEUROT RECORDINGS Another fantastic album has been chosen over at Neurot Recordings for their Pay What You Can segment, and this time the lucky pick is 10.000 Light Years by Zeni Geva! Head over here to claim your copy and simply pay what you can!

WAYFARER + HAVUKRUUNU As Havukruunu prepares for a vinyl press, shirt, and patch info they are also preparing for the European tour this April alongside Wayfarer! The only thing you need to keep in mind is that the vinyl press, shirt and patch preorder date is April 10th, and of course head over here to find further info on tour dates, locations and tickets!

TORPOR Advance tickets for Torpor and Gozer in the UK this coming May are now live, so keep your eyes open for them! Should you not be able to make it this time however, we are also happy to inform you that Torpor is working hard behind the scenes on their new album release, making plans for another UK and EU+ tour later this year as well as in 2024!

LATE NIGHT VENTURE With a little something of the brooding, apocalyptic sludge-metal swirl of late 90s/early 00s Neurosis about them Denmark’s Late Night Venture have recently released V: Bones of the Extinct on Trepanation Recordings. The album is available in a plethora of editions—including a number of limited vinyl options. You can check them all out here, where you can also listen to the album in full.

APHOTIC In case you woke up this morning feeling in need of a death metal barrage to herald in a bombardment of volcanic fire from above Sentient Ruin Laboratories have released Abyssgazer by “Italian atmospheric post-death/doom metal oracle” Aphotic. A conceptual album about the collapse of the universe, you probably won’t send your kids to sleep with this, but hey, you do you. Check out the various editions here and give the album a spin.

WOE UNTO ME A new album of huge sounding gothic doom metal has just been released by M-Theory Audio in the form of Belarusians Woe Unto Me and their mouthful of a new album Along the Meandering Ordeals, Reshape the Pivot of Harmony. Click here to listen to and order some epic melancholia.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder.

While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.

So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
