#ShortOnes LXXXI #UndergroundRecos
Hello there,
Saturday… The desired day for the majority of the people. Yes, the beginning of the weekend. But, you know that is also the #ShortOnes day and here I’m again with some recos for all of you.
Check my recos…
Band: Funeral Harvest
Title: Redemptio
Label: Signal Rex
Release date: 31 October 2022
Country: Norway / Italy
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
What a big surprise to my ears. After one demo, a single, and one EP, finally the first album, and what a masterpiece. This album is contagious and addictive and the destructive war machine on it is ready to bleed your ears. In a positive way. The songs are very good, you can’t listen to them only once this album. The desire/need to listen and listen and listen again is quite big. The album in my opinion can be one of the TOP 10 of many persons out there.
Band: Hagetisse
Title: De verminkte stilte van het zijn
Label: Babylon Doom Cult Records
Release date: 22 October 2022
Country: Netherlands
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
Do you know those musicians that can’t stay quiet? Well, the person behind this Black Metal one-man band is one of those people. Mainly dedicated to Black Metal and several subgenres inside Black Metal, but also some time for Death Doom bands or one Death Thrash band. At least from what I know. Hagetisse is not just one more project of this person, Hagetisse is one the most interesting Black Metal bands coming from the Netherlands, a country that always released very good bands even if the way the bands are doing/see it is not so acceptable to many. They always looked different and that… Is very good in my opinion. Check it.
Band: Martyred
Title: The Relegation
Label: Time to Kill Records
Release date: 20 October 2022
Country: USA
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
The first album from this band. Martyred is a band from Texas and they deliver to all of us, a very good and interesting Death Metal. In my opinion, the band is trying to mix a bit of some Old School Death Metal with Brutal Death Metal, the style that mainly plays in this album. The band is good and the album is very interesting with many very good details, music construction, and not boring. The problem that in my opinion happens a lot in many Brutal Death Metal bands, when they are trying to be fast and technical and do 35 notes per second with 124 riffs my minute. Thank you Martyred for not going in that path. Check this band.
Band: Morbific
Title: Squirm Beyond the Mortal Realm
Label: Memento Mori (CD) Headsplit Records (MC and LP US version) / Me Saco un Ojo Records (European LP version)
Release date: 24 October 2022
Country: Finland
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
To start I need to ask this… Are you a fan of Impetigo, Undergang, Anatomia etc etc? If yes, then this is for you. If not, you will lose a very good album, The second one from this band to be more exact. Finland always had good underground Death Metal bands, unfortunately, the majority are gone and the majority only released very few releases. Anyway… In my opinion Morbific is bringing back that good Finnish Death Metal and you need to listen to them.
Don’t forget to support the bands and labels.
