Natal Cleft was spawned at the University of the Philippines in Cebu City and play technical progressive death metal with a unique spin on the genre.

I love technical anything so this should be an interesting ride!
After an unexpected bass into that i can describe as ‘technical groovy chaos’ with shrilling and savage vocals tearing everything apart while the musical theory orgy happens in the background. WELL THEN isn’t this is delightfully intense!! The EP keeps you on your toes with less typical riffs and structures you find it tech death which is more than welcome.

Even though this is an EP it doesn’t hold back on the absolute creativity storm they manage to cram into every song, and my god is it enjoyable. These guys mix any and every style it can and wants to with no apologies or pandering to the genres they play. I LOVE that these guys aren’t afraid of a good fucking riff! 80`s – 90`s style riffing/solos are present in their sound and it does nothing but make it better and breed variety which is rarely seen in this stale and typical genre.

The progressive aspect to this EP is clever utilized and masterfully done creating allot of depth and cathartic pay offs in every song and thier use of juxtapositions is great and effective, the ep will throw all your expectations from a tech bands out the window into oncoming traffic that’s on fire while they scream manically at you while soloing…ehem anyway belter of an EP and look forward to whatever these nutters do next. 8/10 Kieran
