Black Friday XI – Underground Reco
And here I am again to give you some more Underground recommendations. This time I decided to choose two bands from Italy and two bands from the United States. Four bands with music style completely different. Hope you enjoy it and do not foeget to support the bands and the labels.
Band: Bewitcher
Title: Too Fast for the Flames
Label: Shadow Kingdom Records
Release Date: 08 March 2019
Country: United States
Format Reviewed: Digital Promo
This release from BEWITCHER it is a 7″ with just two songs. Side A is one song named “Too Fast for the Flames” that will be available on the future album “Under the Witching Cross” with release date 10 May 2019 and on the Side B, you will listen to the song “Show No Mercy” (W.A.S.P. cover). So, concerning the original song from BEWITCHER… They play a mix of Black Speed Metal. The part of Black Metal is just related to the voice and all the rest, I mean the music is Speed Metal. Very good song to be sincere, with a lot of good riffs and good music construction. This song is a big appeal for the future album, that I will listen to for sure. The cover song on Side B of the 7″, it’s faster than the original music and BEWITCHER did a wonderful job giving a personal touch. Very good.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really? What is this? Holy macaroni… Well, this is me surprised with all the album. Really. This album is really good, or should I say AMAZING? I’m not a big fan of Technical Death Metal but this band just “kill me” with the BIG quality. The bass scales (AMAZING), the guitar riffs (AMAZING), the drums works and the breaks (AMAZING), the vocals and all the changes of tones (AMAZING), the keys (AMAZING), the guitar solos (AMAZING), the Spanish guitar in the middle of the songs (AMAZING)… Tchhhh… Did I already say amazing to many times? Nop, in my opinion, the word “Amazing” will never be used to much to describe this album. These 7 guys simply created an album, which is a MASTERPIECE. It’s brutal, it’s catchy, it’s well done, it’s very well constructed. This album is a… MASTERPIECE. Just listen to and after that? Give me your answer…

Band: Mechanical God Creation
Title: The New Chapter
Label: The Goatmancer Records
Release Date: 29 March 2019
Country: Italy
Format Reviewed: Digital Promo
Totally unknown to me this band from Italy got my attention because of the name. What do we have here? Progressive Death Metal with some melodic touches here and there. That is not new but this album it’s interesting, to be honest. The songs are well done, and they can be brutal and fast but also slower and melodic. So, the balance between beauty and the beast is very balanced. For that, congratulations. It was a good hearing but in the middle of the album there was a big break with the songs “Overlord (pt.II)” and “What Remains (pt.III)” and with that, the good vibes and feelings that was getting with the songs start to vanish. But… After these two songs… They were back, thanks to you a lot for that. Just listen to them.

Band: The Haunting Green
Title: Natural Exntictions
Label: Hypnotic Dirge Records
Release Date: 05 March 2019
Country: Italy
Format Reviewed: Digital Promo
After one intro (that have 6m 30s) named “Lazarus Taxon”, the band THE HAUNTING GREEN started to transport me to another place. The cadence on the riffs, the construction of the songs, the voice. It was a bit “hypnotizing”. They can be Doom, Death, some riffs that could be used in many Black Metal bands, some Drone mixed here and there, atmospheric parts and all this can be what? well, it’s not a “mix of vegetable salad” like those that sometimes I saw and the taste is null. This “Salad” is good. This “Salad” have feelings and most important. this “Salad” has flavor and taste. That is the reason that this band managed to transport me to another place. I advise this band.
