“Enter the Nuummite Cosmos” is the second album by Brotherhood of Sleep, which has been released via Zazen Sounds. The title invites the listener beyond a physical space and into a world constructed around the Nuummite crystal—a dark mineral whose inner structure reveals flashes of light. Within Brotherhood of Sleep‘s mythology, the Nuummite wall becomes a gateway to the Astral Temple, where entering it means moving toward alignment with the totality of existence.

The ritual begins with “Opening – Radiation of a 1000 Violet Suns”, marking the first step toward passing through the portal. The violet suns become a source of spiritual power, an otherworldly energy that awakens the senses and prepares the listener to cross into the unknown. This track consists of three parts, each representing a different stage of entering the other world. The final part ends with the sound of a bell, marking the completion of the first stage and the beginning of the next: “Energetic Metamorphism”, where the listener has crossed the threshold and the transformation actually begins. The energy surrounding the Nuummite Cosmos seems to gradually shift the state of consciousness. The soundscape becomes a process of its own, with layers and vibrations accumulating as if an unseen force were reshaping everything from within.

“The Black Mumia” may evoke the ancient associations of mumia with medicine, healing, preservation, and transformation. The soundscape carries a distinct sense of movement, with rising layers of energy suggesting that something is gradually being activated. It feels like another stage of the ceremony, where the transformation initiated in the previous track continues to unfold. As the soundscape grows darker, “Aligning with the Nuummite Cosmos” marks the moment of entering deeper into the other world. The darkness feels almost tangible, as if the listener is being drawn into the depths of the Nuummite itself, and there is no longer a passage through the portal; it is the moment of alignment.

According to the final track, “Blessed Are the Anointed Human Vessels”, the human being may no longer simply be an observer of this otherworldly realm. They have become a vessel through which that cosmic energy can exist or move. The soundscape becomes increasingly magical and hypnotic, as if the boundary between our world and the otherworld gradually dissolves. 8.5/10
