Brutal death metal foursome, Vulgar Mephitis, have joined the Willowtip roster! The band is set to release “From Dust”, their debut full-length album, on September 11

On From Dust, Vulgar Mephitis follows their 3-track, 2022 self-titled debut EP with a compositionally varied approach that disorients with violent tempo disruption and dissonant riff angularity. The impression left is a lasting, albeit jarring, one.

Guitarist Dan Martin explains the songwriting approach this time around: “The main difference in songwriting from the 2022 EP to now would be the addition of myself and Nick Bentzel (drums) stepping into the band, which expanded upon the way songs are structured in general. Previously, the writing process was solely done by Jay Schweinberg (bass) and Jacob Toy (vocals). At the time, the idea was to be a straight up brutal band with linear song structures.”
