Lorquin’s Admiral #News #Stream

Featuring members of Afghan Whigs, Hermano, Luna Sol, Yawning Sons, Sons of Alpha Centauri, and more, Lorquin’s Admiral fuse desert rock, psychedelia, and alt vibes. For fans of Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Screaming Trees, and Garbage, this powerhouse lineup pushes heavy-psych into bold new territory.

Lorquin’s Admiral is a unique hook-filled, guitar driven, heavy-psychedelic collaboration featuring current and former members of Afghan Whigs, the Fizz Fuzz, Hermano, Luna Sol, Orquesta del Desierto, Sons of Alpha Centauri and Yawning Sons.

Continuing a writing collaboration that began between Marlon King, Nick Hannon, and Dandy Brown for the critically acclaimed Yawning Sons album Sky Island, Lorquin’s Admiral harnesses all the psychedelic elements of their previous work within soulful and contagiously heavy riffs.  Layered with the harmonies of husband-and-wife team Dawn and Dandy Brown, and hypnotically driven by renowned drummer Steve Earle, the group’s debut album brings together a core line-up of members whose musical contributions are recognized across a broad spectrum of genres.

Sweetening the pot, Lorquin’s Admiral recruited guest performers David Angstrom and Country Mark Engel to add their distinctive and mesmerizing guitar textures throughout the group’s debut album.  Angstrom, known for displaying his rich tones in both Hermano and Luna Sol, lends his hand to seven songs on the record.  Country Mark’s mastery of lavish sonic landscapes appears on two songs in the collection.

Reminiscent of the flavors found in desert rock, but giving just as much due to influences of blues, psychedelic, and experimental alternative music, Lorquin’s Admiral is as easily accessible to fans of Kyuss, Fu Manchu, and Fatso Jetson as it is to followers of the Cranberries, Screaming Trees and Garbage.  Inhabiting a unique place among heavy-psychedelic bands who are evolving the “stoner rock” genre, Lorquin’s Admiral explores the unexplored and makes the case that rock is far from dead.
