GRÁB By the album cover alone you should know that a gloomy winter is coming (well in the world of German black-metal band Gráb perhaps winter is all year round). Following their 2021 debut Zeitlang, the Bavarian duo have announced the release of their sophomore album Kremess on Prophecy Productions on the 21st of February. There’s a scything preview track you can listen to here — with links available to pre-order the album on a range of formats worldwide.

UNGFELL And just in case you thought it was safe to come out into elements here’s another blast of ice black metal. This Friday Zürich, Switzerland’s Ungfell will release De Ghörnt (following their 2021 release Es grauet). The album will be released on Eisenwald. You can listen to several tracks from the album here — where the album is available to pre-order on CD and vinyl. You can also find some t-shirts coinciding with the release.
