Wednesdays never fail, do they?
So, let’s see what’s out there…
GAEREA The Portuguese masked sensations of Gaerea once again surface to the top of extreme metal! Ever since the group set the world ablaze with their debut, they have now raised the anticipation for their fourth album to an almost unbearable degree! Now no longer a strictly black metal band, the group now emerges from the underground and is clawing their way to the top of extreme metal! The album, Coma, was released just last Friday, and you can hear all the beautiful and bloodied tracks right now by heading over to the Season of Mists YouTube channel right here, and of course by ordering it over here!
TARJA TURUNEN Well, Tarja has finally released a video for the second single Ciaran´s Wheel from her upcoming live series Rocking Heels: Live at Hellfest! You can head straight over here now to watch the video, over here to stream the track, and of course over here to pre-order the album!
ENTHEOS The latest video from progressive death metal duo Entheos is here! The ferocious new track, Return To Me, comes from the duo´s EP which was released just last week! Head over here right now to check out the video, and of course here to order the EP!
L IFEFORCE RECORDS Now the space problem they got going on over at Lifeforce Records is our luck! This means they have lowered the price all across their catalogue, and so you should definitely head over here right now to check out the selection, and of course to get your hands on some cheap goodies!
NEUROT RECORDINGS Surely as Wednesdays never fail, neither does Neurot Recordings and their weekly segment of Pay What You Can! This week’s album pick is Lashing The Rye by Harvestman! Head over here right now to claim your copy, and simply pay what you can!
CHAINED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN They’ve always had a totally appropriate name given the murky, nasty sludgy metal that they deal in. Now Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean have come up with perhaps their most fitting album title: Sisyphean Cruelty mmmmmmm taste the pain! The album is out now on Redscroll Records. Check it out here in full, grab a vinyl or CD copy, and if you’re very quick (before they sell out) get a t-shirt too. And pump some desperate sonic horror into your day.
UNREQVITED Surely it can’t be time to talk about 2025 releases already?! Well, it is. A Pathway to the Moon is the seventh album of one-man blackgaze project Unreqvited. Drawing not just from black metal, but post-rock and ambient, you can check out a preview track from the record here where you’ll also find a variety of vinyl options to pre-order. The album is due for release on the 24th of January on Prophecy Productions.
PORTRAYAL OF GUILT Not content with pushing the boundaries of extreme metal and punk, Austin, Texas’ malevolent three-piece Portrayal of Guilt have put together (with a host of collaborators) a remix album of their venomous 2021 release Christfucker, titled (in true slasher-movie style) Christfucker II(!). Check out the preview track here where you can pre-order a vinyl copy. The album will be out on Run for Cover tomorrow.
Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.
So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
