Moon Destroys #News #Stream

Guitarist and visual artist Juan Montoya (ex-Torche, MonstrO,
ex-Killer be Killed) formed heavy, psychedelic-rock act Moon
Destroys with drummer Evan Diprima (Gold Pyramid, ex -Royal
Thunder) after the two had previously worked together in various
other projects for years.

The band’s 2020 debut EP Maiden Voyage featured guest appearances from members of Cynic, The Sword and Mastodon.

Now Moon Destroys return as a three-piece with Vocalist/Guitarist Charlie Suárez (MonstrO, ex- Sunday Driver) completing the band’s lineup.

The first release of this new iteration of the band, “The Nearness of June”, is unveiled today. Check it out below.

Of the new track, guitarist and founder Juan Montoya says, “We are proud to bring you the first Moon Destroys song with vocals by our new member Charlie Suárez as well as the return of our drummer Evan Diprima who did an amazing job recording and mixing this powerful track!”

“I wrote the riff after tuning my guitar to Black Sabbath’s “Into the Void”. As always, thanks to Black Sabbath for the eternal inspiration! We can’t wait for everyone to sink their fangs into this song! More coming soon!”

The band’s newest addition Charlie Suárez adds ““The Nearness of June”, romanticized as far as the galaxy permits, is nothing more than a tale of hope within despair amongst the passengers of an inter-planetary vessel being propelled into the unknown.”

“The Nearness of June” is available now to stream and download from the Moon Destroys bandcamp page.
