And here we are once again ladies and gentlemen! There is no stopping Julia Katrin and Tom Osman as you may have already figured out by now, and as it is Wednesday, here comes a brand-new instalment of The Underground Updates!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

WHITECHAPEL Now this is a doozy! Whitechapel is pleased to unleash their brand-new standalone single A Visceral Retch! This track delivers a dark, twisted theme about gluttonous overlords and is a prime track for any extreme metal playlist! Head over here right now to give it a go as well as to check out its official video, and keep in mind as well that Whitechapel is heading out on an amazing tour, starting tomorrow and running through October 30th as a direct support to Lorna Shore! Although mostly sold out, you can still head over here if you are feeling lucky and try to claim a ticket, or you can wait until November when the group joins Thy Art Is Murder for eight dates in Latin America, for which you can also find tickets at the same link!

MOTHER OF GRAVES The latest single from Indianapolic death/doom collective Mother of Graves and accompanying video has become available! The track, Shatter the Visage, comes from the group´s upcoming full length, which will be released in just a month on October 18th via Profound Lore Records! Head over here right now to give the track a go, and of course place your pre-order for the album, The Periapt of Absence, right over here!

PSYCHONAUT 4 Just last week Immortal Frost Productions premiered the official music video to the track Fiqrebi Mtsukhrisa by Psychonaut 4 featuring M.S. from Harakiri for the Sky as guest on guitars! In case you missed it you can still head over here and give the video a watch, and of course head over here to place your order for the upcoming 5th full length album from Psychonaut 4 titled …Of Mourning, scheduled for a release on the 25th of October!

NEUROT RECORDINGS And they are back at it again just like we are! Neurot Recordings never fails to provide, and this week’s album pick for the weekly segment of Pay What You Can is One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache by The Body + Full of Hell! Head over here right now to claim your very own copy, and simply pay what you can!

H AMMERFILOSOFI For anyone seeking an atmospheric battery, check out the latest EP by Norwegian-Italian black-metal duo Hammerfilosofi. Solus is out now on Italian label ATMF. You can listen to the EP here and buy a digital copy. And if you want to push the boat out on some delightful, extreme sounds, the label is currently offering 50% off on their whole catalogue.

OCEANS OF SLUMBER Where Gods Fear to Speak is the latest record from Huston’s prog-metal behemoths Oceans of Slumber, out now on Season of Mist. The album is available on a number of formats with a ton of merch. You can check it all out here and listen to the album in full. For anyone based in Europe, check out the link to the label’s EU webstore below.

OBSOLETION What are genre lanes these days if not for madly rolling all over? Always up for the task of offering the latest in extreme sounds, whatever the flavour, Sentient Ruin Laboratories have announced the forthcoming release of metal-tinged Brazilian dark-hardcore band Obsoletion. The band’s self-titled record is out next month. In the meantime you can listen to a preview track here and if you’re tickled, pre-order a copy on limited vinyl or cassette.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.

So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
