BAZUndergroundUpdates CCXXIII

And we are officially in the last week of July! Of course, it doesn’t matter what week of the year it is for our Underground Updates instalment, only that it’s Wednesday!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

DEFILED Having done much more than just earn their distinguished title as the samurai of death metal, Defiled marches on with their upcoming eight album Horror Beyond Horror, scheduled for a release on September 20th via Season of Mist! There is however a track already available for those like us who just cannot wait, and you can head over here right now to check out the track and video Smoke and Mirrors! Of course, after that you can head over here for the album pre-order!

JULIE CHRISTMAS It seems like everything is happening in France these days, doesn’t it? Well, we aren’t here to promote the Olympics but rather the recent Julie Christmas live performance at Hellfest which you can check out right over here!

TRANSCENDING OBSCURITY RECORDS A massive stock clearance sale is now taking place at Transcending Obscurity Records which is currently offering 50% off on everything you see! Simply head right over here to check out the selection, and of course use the code TORJULY at checkout! And make sure you have quick hands too, because many of the items on sale are the label ́s incredibly rare and hard to find wooden LP and coffin shaped CD box sets that have been long considered sold out!

NEUROT RECORDINGS Of course the weekly segment of Pay What You Can over at Neurot Recordings continues as ever, and this week’s album pick just so happens to be the self-titled album by Brothers of the Sonic Cloth! Head over here right now to claim your very own copy and simply pay what you can!

LACERATION If you like your thrash metal a little bit more evil sounding, perhaps you’d like a great big dollop of death metal all over it and for that, you can feast on I, Erode (newly released by Californians Laceration on 20 Buck Spin). You can enjoy the full, skull-battering experience here.

GOAT SEMEN Of course we come in all shapes, sizes and preferences, but chances are, whoever you are, your mother probably won’t be into Fuck Christ (the latest release from Goat Semen — out now on Hells Headbangers). Then again, if your mother likes gut-ripping South American death/black metal, it could be right up her street. And yours too. Check out the EP in full here — available on vinyl, CD, cassette and digital.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.

So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
