And here we are once again!

Our writers Julia Katrin and Tom Osman are eager to get this month over with and get June started! Only a couple more days to go, and in the meanwhile, here is a brand-new instalment of The Underground Updates!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

AMAROK The California-based doom/sludge metal quartet Amarok is preparing for their late June release of the second LP Resilience, and now the album’s first single Charred has made its public debut which was through an exclusive premiere hosted by Metal Injection! You can head over here to read all about it and listen to the new single, and keep in mind that the album is scheduled for a release on June 28th!

NECROT Earning the #3 spot on Billboard’s Top New Artist charts upon its first week of release, the latest full-length from Necrot titled Lifeless Birth is one of those albums you just need to get your hands on and you can do that right now right over here as well as here! Additionally, Necrot will return to the stage this June on a massive North American headlining tour, and tickets are on sale right now over here!

ABRAMS Colorado´s genre-defying heavy rock stalwarts Abrams have some huge news for us! There is not only a brand new album Blue City which you can listen to on all streaming platforms accessible right over here, and you can also watch the latest videos to the tracks Fire Waltz and Blue City here and here! On top of all of that, they have also announced show updates on their upcoming US summer tour with Goya, so keep your eyes open for those tickets and location information!

PRIMORDIAL The Dublin-based pagan metal legends Primordial returned to US stages just yesterday; the short epic journey began in Chicago and will make its way through Seattle, Mesa, and Los Angeles! Supporting Bloodbath, additional support is also provided by Archgoat and Severe Torture, so this really is a chance you do not want to let pass you by if you are close to any of those places! Tickets are on sale right now over here, so make sure to secure as many as you need!

GOZU Boston rock outfit Gozu is heading out for an upcoming US run and will be supporting Baroness from May 31st through June 10th! The journey follows Gozu´s recent US spring tour with The Obsessed and Howling Giant, and of course Gozu will appear at this year’s edition of Louder Than Life in September as well as Aftershock in October! Make sure to keep your eyes open for tickets to all these events!

INLANDSYS How about a little melodic death metal? France’s Inlandsys have just put out their third album The Fallen on Great Dane Records. You can listen to the album in full here (with CD copies available).

GRAVEHUFFER The always delightful (and forever unclassifiable) Gravehuffer have just released Dog Cop Records Sessions — a neat and efficient three tracks and ten minutes of the band doing their thing. A fine opportunity to get to hear the band’s new drummer Wes McNeely in action. Check it out, do the thing, all right here.

JULIE CHRISTMAS has one of those unmistakable voices and what an awesome and terrifying voice it is. And she’s back! Just about. The experimental metal artist releases her latest solo record Ridiculous and Full of Blood on June 14th on Red Crk. There’s all sorts of wonderful merch goodness tied into the release, which you can check out here (where you can also listen to three preview tracks).

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.

So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
