PETRIFICATION Following up their 2017 debut, Portland, Oregon’s death metal beast Petrification has emerged from its sulphurous pit with Sever Sacred Light on Svart Records. Get your brain and your ears battered and bruised over here, where you can listen to the album in full, with links to physical copies.
MAURDA The latest announcement on Sentient Ruin Laboratories is a suitably noisy blast of extreme metal. Cultus Brachypter by Maurda is dirty, gritty and aggressive mix of black and war metal. You can listen in full here where you can also pre-order a copy on vinyl (release day the 23rd of February).
The Obsessed Scott “Wino” Weinrich is back with his long-running, off-and-on, hard-rocking, doom metal unit The Obsessed with their forthcoming album Gilded Sorrow out the 16th of February on Ripple Music. For the first time on record including a second guitarist the band is firing on all cylinders. You can listen to several tracks here and pre-order the album on several different formats.
