#BAZUndergroundUpdates CLXXX

Although we always try to point out that time passes, we are still often surprised by how fast Tuesday sneaks upon us! Our writers this time, Julia Katrin and Tom Osman, were completely caught off guard by this surprising twist of time and had therefore to quickly come up with a new instalment of The Underground Updates!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

ON THORNS I LAY For 20+ years, On Thorns I Lay have been crafting immense tales of loss and despair. And now, there is a new single available from their upcoming album! The single warns of a fast-approaching apocalypse, and you can hear it as well as watch the beautiful and barren video to the track Thorns of Fire on Season of Mist´s YouTube channel right over here!

BARK The new video the to track Fuck You Is My Etiquette, taken from Bark´s fourth full length album Rambler of Aeons,is now available via Listenable Records, and if you aren’t too sensitive you can head straight over here now and give it a go!

BLACK LION RECORDS The clearance sale continues! Throughout October we can now get a whopping 70% off on everything over at Black Lion Records with the code blacklion70! Head over here right now to get your goodies!

HEILUNG Having released their critically acclaimed third album Drift in August of last year, Heilung will be bringing their oracular ceremony to the AFAS Live Amsterdam on the 21st of September 2024! The tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday the 27th of September right over here, so make sure you have quick hands when it starts at 10:00 A.M. CEST.

GAEREA Now ahead of their upcoming North American tour, Gaerea has announced a special video screening this coming Thursday, September 28th, at the original Kunas Corner in Chicago IL! The event is free to attend, and starts promptly at 7:30 P.M., and of course Gaerea will be present!

LURING Halloween is still a month or so away, but in the meantime you can enjoy the very ghoulish and sinister opening to Triumphant Fall of the Malignant Christ by Luring, before plunging headfirst into some aggressive and raw Black Metal. Out now via Iron Bonehead Productions. You can listen to the album in full here, where you can also buy a digital copy. How much for, you ask? Why of course it’s €6.66.

WORMHOLE Season of Mist has a tasty new release in the form of Almost Human by Baltimore Death Metal brutalizers Wormhole. Aside from the impressive technicality and aggressively heavy attack, there’s a whiff of the rubbery, brain melting guitars of Veilburner and that can never be a bad thing! Click this way to have your head panned in, listen to the album in full and buy a copy on various formats, should you so desire.

ASH PRISON Ahhh the soothing tones of some fresh Industrial-Punk-Metal in the form of Future Torn, the new albumby Ash Prison available on Sentient Ruin Laboratories. Well, no of course soothing is not the word. It’s a bleak, cold blast of chugging, machine brutality. Sometimes though that’s just the tonic. Sun shining outside? It sure isn’t inside. Check out the album here.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder.

While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.

So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
