#BAZUndergroundUpdates CLXV

3 min read

Here we are in the second full week of June already! And of course today being Tuesday, our ever hard working writers Julia Katrin and Tom Osman have a brand new installment of The Underground Updates!

So, let’s see what’s out there…

CENTURY The first ever official promo video for the single Breakthrough by Century is out now on YouTube, taken off their debut album The Conquest of Time! The footage was shot during Century´s US tour and album release shows in Sweden this past spring, and the band´s next show will take place in Kobotn, Norway, on the 25th of August at Hellbotn Metal Fest! Head over here to check out the video now!

NEONFLY As Neonfly is up to their eyeballs in shows at the moment, they have also in addition released a brand-new live music video for the track Last of our Kind, with footage that was filmed a year ago during the band’s latest tour through Mexico! It provides the perfect appetisers for what we can all expect from Neonfly´s show, so we urge you to head over here and check it out!

NEUROT RECORDINGS The weekly segment continues over at Neurot Recordings and this week’s album pick for the Pay What You Can offer is Metaprogramação by Deafkids! Head over here to claim your copy now and simply pay what you can!

TOOL This fall Tool is returning to the road! In addition to the band´s festival appearances this summer they will continue with a six week long North American tour, including their first Canadian dates since 2019! The tickets are already on sale, so make sure you check the dates and shows!

INVOCATIO There’s a blast of extreme metal aggression (and weirdness) out now on Self Mutilation Services. The Detonation of the Cosmos by Invocatio stomps, it grooves, it summons the spirits, it wraps itself around your bowels and squeezes. Whatever you want to call it exactly, there’s some serious extreme metal goodness (badness) to be enjoyed here. Check out the album in full, where you can also buy on digital or CD.

SPECTRAL VOICE And speaking of bowels, sometimes there comes a time in every extreme metal loving traveller, when they need a touch of that Demilich-style bowel perforating death metal that really rips out intestines by the armfull. If that sounds like the tonic you’re looking for, have a listen to the latest split on Dark Descent Records by Spectral Voice / Undergang. The limited vinyl have been snapped up already, but you can listen in full here and have yourself a CD.

Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder.

While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative.

So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
