Hello there,

Music… Music is made of feelings and feelings make us like it or not. To enjoy a release we need to feel it, is necessary for all of us to feel the riffs, the changes in tempo, and the construction of the song. Only after that, we can say “I like” or “I love it”. Well, this is only one part of the ways to enjoy music. My opinion. Anyway…

Check my recos…

Band: Hegemone
Title: Voyance
Label: Brucia Records
Release date: 15 September 2022
Country: Poland
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

I remind to read something about this band when the second album was out, and when I got the promo from this new album I decided to listen to it. The music is a mix of Black Metal with Sludge and with an Hardcore vocals style, not always but, in many places, it looked to me. Not a band thing, even if Hardcore is not my thing. The mix is well done, i can admit that and this album was a good surprise. I do not advice it to the Traditional Black Metal fans, but I can say, if you don’t listen to it, you will loose a good release.

Band: Medieval Demon
Title: Black Coven
Label: Hells Headbangers Records
Release date: 16 September 2022
Country: Greece
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

Do you know that bands that play a kind of music and you can say immediately from where they are? Well, this is one of those bands. The riffs, the atmosphere, the way the songs are made, the changes of tempos, etc etc etc… It’s a trademark in my opinion. It’s good or bad? It only depends in my opinion if you like it or not. In this case, I love the music they do, and their trademark. They play the famous Hellenic Black Metal. Since I love that “wave” was with big pleasure that I gave a listen to this release. The addition of non-black metal instruments in some songs was very well achieved in my opinion and it gave a different touch. Very good album and I will listen to much more times.

Band: Mo’ynoq
Title: A Place for Ash
Label: Independent
Release date: 23 September 2022
Country: USA
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording

From the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, Black Metal has always been made in a different way, no offense or pointing the finger, but just mentioning facts, and sometimes there are some bands doing a mix of it. In this case, Mo’ynoq is the band. What they do is very good, to be honest, a mix of old fashion Black Metal style, and some “updated” Black Metal. The way they play, I mean, the music that is getting out from my cabinets reminds me a lot, of the second wave but also recent bands playing with a new and different approach. I like it and for me is all that matters.

Don’t forget to support the bands and labels.
