#BAZUndergroundUpdates CXVI
Have you looked at your calendar yet? Then you probably know what day it is and which two of our writers are back at it once again with this week´s The Underground Updates!
So, let’s see what’s out there…
NEUROT RECORDINGS Always putting us in a good mood with their Pay What You Can weekly album pick, Neurot Recordings has this time around chosen Naptánc/Dancing with the Sun by Hungary’s psychedelic rock group Galloping Coroners (VHK)! Head over here to claim your copy and simply pay what you can!
BLACK LION RECORDS Still going strong with the discounts, we want to remind everyone once again of the fabulous offers Black Lion Records continues to offer, and while the European store still offers a 50% summer sale discount the USA store, together with Indiemerch, as well continues to offer 30% discount through the month of June! Head over here to check out the USA store right now and remember the code BLKLIONREC!
DARK ESSENCE RECORDS And we continue with the discounts! Now Dark Essence Records is offering a sweet 15% discount code that we can use on anything at their Bandcamp page! Head over here to check out the selection, and of course remember the code darksummer15!
KATAPULT The Swiss/Swedish thrash metal band Katapult has just released their first single Nihilism for The Gods! Head over here to check out the official video!
CHAOTIAN Denmark’s Chaotian have just released their debut album on the UKs Me Saco Un Ojo Records. Effigies of Obsolescence delivers hulking, great slabs of death metal nastiness. You can listen to the album in full here, where you can also pick up the album on CD and vinyl.
PAPANGU It’s not every day that some avant-garde progressive metal comes around, let alone from Brazil and sung in Portuguese. Indeed, Holoceno — Papangu’s debut full-length release — was seven years in the making. Drawing from classic prog acts like King Crimson and Magma, Holoceno is also a concept album, inspired by “ecological eschatology and the modernist literature of Northeastern Brazil”. Listen to the album in full and buy a copy on CD or limited vinyl from Repose Records, or go to the band directly for a digital copy here.
HEADS FOR THE DEAD Horror obsessed death metal supergroup Heads for Dead have a new album — The Great Conjuration — due for release on the 2nd of September. That’s reason to celebrate in itself, but with the band once again releasing their music through Transcending Obscurity Records that means there’s a ton of cool merch to go with the release. Check everything out here, where you can listen to preview tracks and pre-order the album on a range of special editions.
Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link Bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative. So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
