#BAZUndergroundUpdates LXXXIV
You do know the drill by now, right? Our unstoppable writers Julia Katrin and Tom Boatman are back at it on this beautiful Tuesday to bring you a new installment of The Underground Updates.
So, let’s see what’s out there…
NYT LIV Not long ago we had the pleasure of seeing Nyt Liv´s new official video to the track Mens livet forsvinder, and now they have released the third and final single Grå dage from their upcoming album Den døde sol. Just like previously, guitarist Martin Goltermann contributed visually. Head over here to check out the video, over here to check out the tracks that have been released so far, and of course over here to place your order for the album, scheduled for a release on the 19th of this month!
THE AMENTA Last week No Clean Singing premiered the film clip to The Amenta´s track Twined Towers. The clip features Cain putting himself through some very disturbing things and in their own words, it perhaps the culmination of all the visuals of their album Revelator. Head over here to see this collaboration between Cain and Garth Hurley of CRT Films.
GOLD SPIRE have just released their self-titled debut album on Mexico’s Chaos Records and what an intriguing blend of jazz, progressive rock and death metal it is. Featuring current and former members of Usurpress, Sarcasm, and Obskyr, you are sure to agree that this is not something you hear every day. Head over to bandcamp for a listen and to pick up a copy on CD, but don’t delay as the run of 500 is almost sold out.
GAAHLS WYRD Iconic and infamous black metal vocalist Gaahl probably needs no introduction. Those most familiar with the singer’s abrasive work with Gorgoroth might be surprised to hear a much more contemplative, atmospheric side to the man. This latest EP The Humming Mountain is really rather darkly beautiful. Check it out here where you can also get a copy on CD, vinyl or grab yourself a t-shirt.
MÜTTERLEIN French, solo project Mütterlein brings an intense, ritualistic, electronic darkness with the forthcoming latest release Bring Down the Flags, as is evident on the first track of the album, streaming now on bandcamp. The album is due on Debemur Morti Productions on December 30th (how festive!). Head over here to listen to the preview track The Descent and pre-order the album on vinyl or CD.
Having to pay gigantic sums for international postage is a real gear grinder. While it’s our default setting to link bandcamp pages in the case of new and pre-releases, we thought it would be helpful to add some online stores that might provide a useful alternative. So if you see a release you fancy, but it’s being sold in a far off land and you don’t want to fork out on exorbitant shipping, see if any of the links below can remedy the situation.
