BAZ Friday LX – Underground Reco For Underground Maniacs
August soon will be over and Autumn will start next month. The time flies and we don’t notice it cause we all have our lives. But, at least we still have our Metal music to help us living these hard days. This year I already had the pleasure to listen to so much good music and week after week is hard to choose only a few releases… Maybe I must or should start thinking in a new way of doing this article for all of you in order to give you more recos… But for now, hope you enjoy the following ones.
Band: Onirik
Title: The Fire Cult Beyond Eternity
Label: I, Voidhanger Records
Release date: 25 September 2020
Country: Portugal
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
When I got this promo I was really excited. Yes, finally a new album from this Portuguese Black Metal band. The last album was in 2015. I have been following then since the first release. Looking back to the band history they are different. The band, well, the correct, one-man-band, always had a unique way of playing Black Metal. You need to check this.

Band: Desolator
Title: Sermon of Apathy
Label: Black Lion Records
Release date: 04 September 2020
Country: Sweden
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
The name of the band was not strange to me even if there are several bands with the same name. In this case, I’m talking about the Swedish Death Metal band. And what an album. So damn good. With a lot of solos. A killer voice, very catchy riffs. Amazing drum… Check them.

Band: Sadistic Embodiment
Title: Blood Spell
Label: CDN Records
Release date: 18 September 2020
Country: Canada
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
And I have to say this. Another Canadian band that I found. They began in 2018 and after 3 EP’s finally the first album. Well, with that name, logo and cover you might think, “They play Death Metal”. Well… Correct. And a very good one. It was a very good surprise while listening to this album.

Band: Veritas
Title: Threads of Fatality
Label: Veritas Rocks (Band’s label)
Release date: 28 August 2020
Country: USA
Format reviewed: High-quality Digital Recording
The promo email that I got from the PR caught my attention and I decided to listen to this album. I must say this, not a big fan of Progressive Metal or Power Metal, music styles that you will find here, a lot. But… This band is good. Very good in fact. If you are a fan of Queensryche, Fates Warning, and Dream Theater, this is for you. And… Mark Zonder (Drum) is playing in this band (Fates Warning, Spirits of Fire, Warlord)
