BAZ Friday LVII – Underground Reco For Underground Maniacs

Well well… The last Friday of July and the LVII edition of this article. Many bands I already mentioned here and many more I will do. It’s been a very time doing this. Listening to new bands, new releases, found new labels. This is amazing and I love it. Hope you enjoy my recos for this Friday.

Band: Torrefy
Title: Life is Bad
Label: Independent
Release date: 1 July 2020
Country: Canada
Format reviewed: Digital promo

Yes… Life is bad, life is shitty, life is a mess, but… It’s also a very good thing and we have to fight for what we believe, always respecting the others… Well, is my point of view. But let me stop with the “stupid” talk and let me start talking about this band. They are from Canada and this is already the third album. What they play maybe you are asking now… Well… They play a very good Thrash Metal. Very good indeed. Check them…

Band: Winter Nights
Title: Winter Nights
Label: Independent
Release date: 31 July 2020
Country: Usa
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

From New York, USA I have for you this Melodic Death Metal. They did remind me of a few bands, to be honest, Sentenced, Kalmah or Death (sometimes). This melodic Death Metal released a very good album divided into six very good tracks. You need to check them. (No songs available on the social and stream platforms, so, check the previous album)

Band: Brotthogg
Title: The Die is Cast
Label: Independent
Release date: 01 August 2020
Country: Norway
Format reviewed: Digital Promo

Last year I had the pleasure to know this band and review the previous album (here) and when I saw this promo, I decided immediately to review it. For me is a bit different. The band still attached to the progressive Death Metal but some Black Metal touches can be found here and there. Especially in the voice and some riffs used. For me is an upgrade, and even if I’m not into the progressive world this album is very good. Check them.

First thing… Are you a fan of Swedish Death Metal (not the HM2 style) mixed with a bit of technical death metal and mixed with just a little bit of a kind of Brutal Death Metal here and there? Well, if you do, this EP is for you. This is the first release from this band and it is a very good first release. You really need to check them.
