A weight of the old knowledge.

Although the TEITANBLOOD have been active since 2003, the released in October “The Baneful Choir” album is actually their third full-length, following “Death” (2014) and “Seven Chalices” (2009). Having three more EPs and two splits, the Spanish quartet has always been aiming for the heaviest, darkest, most suffocating, and even bestial tunes with the death/black metal they create. Their logo can be spotted on the cover of Darkthrone’s “Circle the Wagons” album. Being part of Norma Evangelium Diaboli, TEITANBLOOD falls in the circle of some of the most kvlt occult vicious antichrist bands.

This is how the HELL sounds.

The album has been on heavy rotation with me since it was released. So I really had enough time to experience a lot of this death dissonance, and yet every next listen it brings something new too. Since the first second of the opener intro “Rapture Below”, till the very last moment of “Charnel Above”, “The Baneful Choir” represents the sheer horror. It is the heaviest thing you could hear in 2019. Abyssal, abominating, gazing straight into the blackest abyss (or coming from there), this record is the darkest night you would probably witness. The low tuned heavy AF guitars, the screams, the blasts, the whole atmosphere draws the noise of a black mass of dark worshipers, suffering and trapped in the darkest corner of Hell, but hailing their Dark Master. The eleven tracks result in 51 minutes of incredible depressive cacophonous apotheosis of the Night. In this black vertebrae, the stars are sunken and the fires are leprous. All the inhuman utterings are verdicts of the dead.

There is only darkness.

We are nothing, we are pathetic, we are useless. We are crushed under this absolute heaviness. TEITANBLOOD leave complete desolation with “The Baneful Choir”; funeral loneliness and grief. And despite this total devastation, when the album is over, you need to listen to it once again. It is a poisonous, sinful, disgusting, asphyxiating addiction, obsession. The absolute chaotic cruelty which the Choir brings and leaves must be experienced. TEITANBLOOD are the ungodly others, existing only the shadows of the dark tunnels of the underworld in other dimensions of the cosmic spaces, hiding so many dark secrets…

One can’t hear every day how really the HELL sounds.

Roaring litanies revolve in narrow tunnels
Spider webbed whispering the nightmares
The blackbone of thousand defuncts
